Hi,
I have lower capacity of Provider VDC than vSphere Cluster capacity. I have attached only one Provider VDC to one vSphere Cluster.
vSphere Cluster CPU capacity is 10GHz and 8 GB of memory capacity. HA is set to percentage based policy to 10% of failover capacity.
Problem is that vCloud Director is showing just 7,17 GHz of CPU capacity and 3,37 GB of memory capacity for Provider VDC attached to vSphere Cluster.
I have tested Cluster also without HA but no change.
I have then tried to create Organization VDC.
I wanted to use all 7,17 GHz of CPU capacity and all 3,37 GB of memory capacity for Org VDC. It showed me error that:
There are insufficient resources to complete this operation.
- The operation could not be performed, because there are insufficient memory resources.
- The available Memory resources in the parent resource pool are insufficient for the operation.
I have then checked Organization VDC Properties and it is showing me CPU allocation 7,17 GHz as 50% of available Provider VDC capacity of 14,34 GHz and Memory allocation 3,38 GHz as 50% of available Provider VDC capacity of 6,75 GB.
Now Im totally confused! To summarize:
Question 1
Why it is showing just 7,17 GHz of capacity for Provider VDC instead of 10GHz which is real capacity of vSphere Cluster? Same question for memory.
Question 2
Why on the level of Org VDC it is showing that 7,17 GHz is 50% of available Provider VDC capacity of 14,34 GHz? Same question for memory.
Question 3
How Provider VDC capacity of 14,34 GHz in Organization VDC Properties is calculated? Same question for memory.
