How change the default network card for a new VM to vmxnet while creating a new VM?

I'm looking for the possibility to force the vmxnet nic when creating a new VM. When creating a Windows VM the e1000e is automatically used, but I do not want this. Can I change in config files or somewhere else this automatic setting?
