KairosDB Security

Hi all

I'm looking at how to secure the connections between vCloud Director cells and the Kairos database used to storage VM performance metric data.   It doesn't look like the cell-management-tool accepts a username/password or a protocol, so it seems there no opportunity to use SSL nor setup any authentication.

What is everyone else doing to secure the DB connection?
