Hello,
I am new to vRealize Operation Manager, and I am required to upgrade our appliance from version 6.0.2 to the latest 6.2.
I was following this guide: http://www.settlersoman.com/how-to-patch-or-upgrade-vmware-vrealize-operations-manager-vrops/ and it seemed simple enough until I reached the download page.
I have already downloaded the OS upgrade file (vRealize_Operations_Manager-VA-OS-6.2.0.3542056.pak) but got left puzzled with the product upgrade. From the download page, I see vRealize Operations Manager - Virtual Appliance upgrade (with Windows based RC), and vRealize Operations Manager - Virtual Appliance upgrade (without Windows based RC). which one do I download?
As far as I know my organization doesn't use remote collectors, but how can I be sure?
The truth be told, I don't know what they are used for (and couldn't really find any information on google), but if I'm to guessing correctly, they are for extra functionality.
So my question is (if I am guessing right) if I choose not to install the remote collectors, am I able later on to install them if I need them? do they require a license?
it would be very helpful to have a comprehensive guide on the remote collectors, if anyone knows of one..
