vCOPs 5.8.x and vROPs 6.x instances running at same time?

Hello, we have an instance of vCOPs 5.8.3 that is currently monitoring two vCenter servers at different locations. We want to upgrade to vROPs 6, and we recently went through the ugrade with data migration method. The new instance was up and mostly working, but it was only properly pulling in data for one of the vCenter servers. That, and some of the settings and names for our objects just looked a bit off. I messed around with trying to get everything straightened out, but didn't have the time to go through that, so I just ended up removing he vROPs instance.

We had the idea of just deploying a brand new vROPs 6 instance and configure it "fresh" and allow it to start collecting data, and at a later point retire the 5.8.3 instance. We would like to just deploy the new instance, and after a few weeks or so, once everything is configured and confirmed working, make the permanent switch to it. We still have to provide management with some monthly capacity reporting and I want to be able to pull that data from our existing vCOPs instance that has been collecting data for over 6 months, and do that at least one last time before we reitre it and start getting that data from the new instance.

My questions is, is it possible and ok to have both the 5.8.3 and 6.x versions up and running and both tied to the same vCenter servers?
